Joe Eubanks is an experienced management consultant and strategic advisor who is dedicated to ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in different organizations. He is currently the chief equity officer at the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA). Here, Joe Eubanks is in charge of policy development, community engagement, and ensuring compliance with civil rights regulations.
Joe Eubanks collaborates with mid-level to senior leadership to implement Washington State’s Pro-Equity Anti-Racism Plan and Playbook (PEAR). He also works with WDVA’s communication division to develop communication strategies that help veterans understand why the organization collects data and how it uses it. Mr. Eubanks provides resources and training content to WDVA staff to educate them on the complex and sensitive issues that the organization’s customers might face, while providing skills they can use to address veterans concerns.
Prior to joining WDVA, Joe Eubanks was the executive director of climate, culture, diversity, and belonging at Wenatchee Valley College. Reporting directly to the president, he played a crucial role in shaping the institution’s DEI framework. His leadership focused on organizational transformation, change readiness, and addressing systemic barriers to teaching, learning, and student success.
